I am certain many of you are aware of the success of the State’s “Coats for Kids” program over the past two years. Under the guidance and perseverance of our current State Community Director, our State became a national leader in Council participation under this program. The remarkable success of this program helped our State Council set the standard for the entire country.
But you are probably wondering what does this have to do with the Global Wheelchair Initiative? Well, I am asking for your assistance in helping to increase our local Council participation rate with this program. There are many individuals in our communities who lack the freedom of mobility and would benefit from your charitable efforts. There are agencies and organizations that can be contacted to see who would most benefit from this program in your jurisdiction. Former service members come immediately to mind. You need to donate a minimum of then (10) wheelchairs to earn the program credits (2). But the wheelchairs can be purchased at a discounted price and providing the gift of mobility to the men, women and children of your communities would be truly doing the work of our founder who main concern was the health and welfare of the poor and disenfranchised.
Program timeline: July 2024 through April 2025 to allow for delivery and distribution.
