My Brothers,
As we are getting closer to the Thanksgiving Holiday let’s remember all the blessings that God has given to us. It will be a time to get together with family and friends to share a meal and make new memories. Along with giving thanks for my family, I will be counting among my blessings all my Brother Knights in Pennsylvania. I am proud of all the work that you do and all the support that you give to your parishes, communities, and those in need. We may never know all the lives that we touch but this is the mission of our lives. We are following Christ’s call to serve others and what greater mission could there be than that.
In a couple of weeks Advent will begin and we will be preparing for the birth of Jesus. Despite the busyness of the season, the Knights will be there to help wherever it is needed. From helping with meals, to buying gifts for children, to passing out winter coats. Where there is a need, there is a Knight.
Jesus gave us the Ultimate Gift in the Eucharist. We as Knights must be the ones who lead others back to church and the Eucharist. Invite your family and friends who haven’t been to church in a while to come back and share in the Eucharistic banquet prepared by Christ for all of us. What greater gift could there be this Christmas than having your family together at Mass!
As you go through the holiday season please share the gift and joy of the Knights of Columbus with those you meet. It may be that they are looking for a way to put their Faith into Action and you just might be the one that shows them the way.
Colleen and I wish you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving and a Blessed and Merry Christmas.
